Q: What is the policy regarding school visitations?
A: All visitors must check in at the office and obtain a yellow visitor's badge. Please make sure you have made arrangements ahead of time with
your child's teacher.
Q; Where do I park when I visit Catskill Elementary?
A: Parking is available in the adjacent Scott Park parking lots. There is also plenty of street parking on Ravenna, Catskill Avenue, and 236th. Please
be aware that there is street sweeping every THURSDAY. Do not park in the staff parking lot because it is locked during school hours.
Q: What should I do if my child forgets their lunch?
A: Student lunches may be dropped off in the office. Please remember to mark all lunches with the child's name, teacher, and room number.
Q: What is the policy on bringing treats for my child's birthday?
A: We encourage all parents to celebrate their child's birthday without food.
Q: What is the criteria for earning the monthly awards?
A: Awards are given to 2 students per month. One award for the the student in the classroom who best demonstrates the character trait of the month
and one award for the student who excels in the academic content focus for the month.
Q: What happens if my child forgets their field trip permission slip?
A: Unfortunately, all students must have a signed field trip permission slip in order to attend any field trip. Should your child lose their
permission slip, download the parent permission slip below, complete, sign and return to your child's teacher prior to the trip.
Q: What needs to be done should we move or change our phone number during the school year?
A: Most importantly, your child's emergency information should be updated. Download the emergency_information forms below, complete them with
the current information and return them to the front office staff as soon as possible.
