Dear Catskill Parents, Staff and Community Members, Catskill Avenue Elementary School will be closed Thursday, December 10th, 2020 until January 8th, 2021. The last day employees will be on campus is Wednesday, December 9th, 2020. Although the staff is not allowed on the campus, all employees will be working from home. Students are expected to attend school until Friday, December 18th, 2020. Winter Break is December 21st, 2020 – January 8th, 2021. Please contact your child’s teacher first with any questions or concerns. Technology concerns may be addressed by contacting the District at 213-443-1300. You may also contact Mr. Johnson at 424-250-0493 during the hours of 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. The main office hours to answer the phones will be from 8:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. The Catskill Staff and I wish all stakeholders a safe, healthy and Happy Holiday. I hope all of you were able to attend your child’s parent conference. Parents and teachers working together make successful students. I am very fortunate to work with such a professional and hardworking staff. The teachers are working tirelessly to develop on-line lessons for your children. Remember, your child’s daily attendance is very important for their success. Catskill Avenue Elementary is constantly looking for ways to improve. We will not return until the State and Los Angeles County Health Department claim the schools safe. Please complete a survey to let us know what program you would like for your child(ren). As we end 2020, I would like to thank you for your commitment to Catskill and to the belief in public school education.
