A Message to our catskill families
Dear Catskill Families,
I hope this finds all of you safe and healthy. When we hear that schools are closed, that’s not entirely true. Our school buildings may be closed but our teachers, staff, and students have been working hard in their virtual classroom. It took time to adjust to online learning but all stakeholders are doing their best to continue with your child’s education. Consistent attendance while distance learning is a must.
As you follow the news, you are aware that reopening of schools has been highly discussed. Superintendent Buetner has weekly updates on Monday mornings on our LAUSD website to discuss the progress of returning to school.
February marks the beginning of Black History Month. Throughout the month students will engage in lessons and activities to acknowledge the contributions of Black Lives in America. We hope these lessons and activities will give our students opportunities to explore their role as a social justice agent in the work towards justice, equality and fairness.
As we approach our 100th day of school, I feel confident that we are on a path toward a greater sense of normalcy. I would like to thank our students, parents, community members, and staff for all of their support during these challenging times. As we continue to move forward, I encourage parents to be vigilant in monitoring their child’s academic progress as well as their social emotional health.
I want to reiterate my gratitude for your continued support and wish you and your family good health and good spirits.
