A child's imagination is never boring. Combine a child's imagination with common items found around the home, and what do you get? Repurposed Artwork! Teachers have encouraged Catskill students to a creative Earth Day challenge.

During this season of distance learning, there are so many ways for students to get creative. The creative thinking process helps keep a young mind to stay healthy and focused. Crafting projects also help teach a young learner important work habit skills. It teaches a learner how to build a plan, begin the plan and finish it. It's a good sense of accomplishment when a child finishes a crafting project.

A student created repurposed artwork by using that empty toilet paper roll instead of tossing it into the trash container. In this example, a third grader created a honey bee paper sculpture to decorate her family's spring garden. She also created this digital collage of pictures and graphic images to share how she celebrated Earth Day. Now, we can all see how fun and colorful her family garden looks with that new bee sculpture made out of a toilet paper roll.
